Mixed Classes Added: Boys are Welcome!

First of all, let me say that Fit2Shine always has been and will be designed primarily for women. We have started as Curves coaches, and, for the most part, clients; so we will continue creating safe, judgement-free space for women to help improve their fitness and quality of life.

However, we often hear our ladies mentioning the lack of mobility and general exercise for their husbands. While both men and women benefit from strength training, men (especially older boys) are less likely to go to the gym, group classes or join walking groups. But worry not ladies, we’ve got your back, and now your hubbies can join some of our classes.

For 6 months now, our coach Ivana have been running a side project named Commit 2 Be Fit, offering online lunchtime classes for both men and women, and now we decided to make it available to a wider audience.

These classes are for you, if: 

  • You don’t like gyms with their competitive, unfriendly vibe
  • You want to improve your fitness, build muscle and get stronger
  • You don’t have much time. The class is only 30 minutes long; you will be done before you know it! Sometimes we are too tired to exercise after work and early mornings are just a bit too early. Lunchtime workouts easily fit into your working schedule, and give you a much needed break from your desk
  • You want real results – improved strength, mobility, quality of life
  • You want to see your progress – you can get heavier weights as you go along, and build muscle
  • You don’t like complicated moves – you don’t have to be ‘coordinated’ to do this class!

What are you getting? 

  • Strength training. Strength training can help you preserve and enhance your muscle mass at any age. Plus, it increases bone density. Muscle loss is closely associated with bone loss, but fortunately, strength training increases both muscle mass and bone mass. Studies also have shown significant improvements in insulin sensitivity and glycaemic control after several weeks of strength training.
  • Cardio, which is improving heart health and increasing energy levels. Regular cardio lowers your risks of heart disease, diabetes and maybe even some cancers.
  • Mobility. It helps with balance, coordination, and concentration, which can help increase the quality of life. Improve your mental health, heart health, resistance to injury and gain better confidence. Improves all-round functional fitness performance. Increases range of movement, helping us stay active and healthy longer in life. Reduces joint deterioration (prevention is always better than cure), as well as prevents aches and pains.
  • Breathwork. Don’t let snoring disturb your sleep, and never run out of breath on the walk! Besides, breathwork is hugely beneficial for your nervous system, which increases overall sense of well-being.
